Following ABC's indefinite suspension of "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" over remarks about conservative activist Charlie Kirk, U.S. President Donald Trump suggested that TV networks whose late-night hosts criticize him could have their broadcast licenses revoked. The move has sparked a backlash: TV host Jay Leno argued that viewers, not the government, should decide what stays on air, while Georgetown law professor David Super stressed there is no legal basis for revoking licenses over political speech. Trump, meanwhile, defended his stance by claiming that "97 percent" of TV coverage about him was negative.
