In northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Altay is a natural canvas splashed with vibrant hues.

Start at Kanas scenic area, a hidden gem in the Altai Mountains renowned for its lush greenery and rippling water. Each autumn, Kanas transforms into a golden dreamscape – lush evergreen and amber foliage encircle the shimmering emerald-blue lake, while distant snow-dusted peaks complete this surreal masterpiece.

Downstream along the Irtysh River lies Wucaitan, a riverbank famed for its striking Yardang landforms. Here, layers of minerals and wind-sculpted rock surfaces combine to create a vivid, multicolored landscape unique to Xinjiang. Rolling hills in shades of red, ocher and yellow glow even more brilliantly under the setting sun. Across the river, a dense poplar forest mirrors its golden autumn leaves in the water, forming a stunning natural contrast.
