China will celebrate the Chinese Farmers' Harvest Festival on September 23 this year. Since its establishment in 2018, the festival has been observed annually on the Autumn Equinox of the Chinese lunar calendar.
The inaugural festival took place in 2018, making 2025 the eighth edition. The Autumn Equinox, one of the 24 solar terms, usually falls in late September.
In 2024, China's total grain output reached 706.5 million tonnes, an increase of 11.09 million tonnes, or 1.6 percent, compared with 2023.
