Hong Kong police safely defused a World War II-era bomb discovered at a construction site after evacuating more than 2,800 people. Images released by police show flames erupting as specialists worked for 12 hours to neutralize the device, which authorities said was "fully functional" and could have caused mass casualties if mishandled. The U.S.-made bomb was similar to others unearthed in the city in 2018.
