Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun on Monday told a regular press briefing that ending the Palestinian-Israeli conflict is a shared aspiration of the people in Palestine, Israel, and the wider Middle East, as well as the pressing task of the international community.

Guo reaffirmed that Gaza belongs to the Palestinian people and is an inseparable part of Palestinian territory. He said that under the current situation, it is imperative to achieve a comprehensive ceasefire in Gaza to ease the humanitarian crisis, and countries with special influence over Israel should take real responsibility.

He added that the principle of "Palestinians governing Palestine" should be effectively implemented in post-war governance and reconstruction, and that the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people should be upheld. The spokesperson also reiterated China's support for the two-state solution and opposition to any unilateral actions that undermine its foundation.

"Force cannot bring peace, and violence cannot deliver security," Guo said, adding that China will continue to work with the international community to promote a ceasefire in Gaza and support the Palestinian people in restoring their legitimate national rights.
