UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres warned at a high-level plenary meeting in New York on Monday that the principles of the United Nations are "under assault as never before," citing ongoing conflicts in Gaza, Ukraine, and Sudan, rising poverty and hunger, faltering progress on the Sustainable Development Goals, and worsening climate chaos.
