9th China-South Africa trade expo opens in Johannesburg

The South Africa-China Trade and Investment Promotion Conference, along with the 9th China-South Africa International Trade Expo, opened on Tuesday in Johannesburg. The three-day event aims to strengthen bilateral trade and investment ties.

This year's expo focuses on South Africa's 2025–2029 trade, investment and industrialization plan, with an emphasis on promoting the export of 100 South African specialty products to China.

During the event, enterprises from both countries will engage in in-depth exchanges in sectors including new energy, automotive manufacturing, digital economy and agricultural product processing.

Attending the opening ceremony were Chinese Ambassador to South Africa Wu Peng, South African Minister of Electricity and Energy David Ramokgopa, Deputy Minister of Trade, Industry and Competition Zuko Godlimpi, Johannesburg Mayor Dada Morero, and hundreds of other political and business representatives from both countries.
