The 2nd Chu Culture Festival, showcasing the cultural heritage of the ancient state of Chu, opened with a spectacular show in Jingzhou City, central China's Hubei Province, on September 20. The opening showcased Chu heritage as part of the Yangtze River civilization through dance, music, national treasures and digital effects. The event also had a strong international flavor. Diplomats from 16 Latin American and Caribbean countries participated in a cultural exchange program, while youth representatives from 13 countries launched the International Yangtze Journey in Jingzhou. Chu Culture, also known as Jing-Chu Culture, thrived over 2,000 years ago. It is an important part of the Chinese culture and plays a significant role in Chinese history.
