The Palestinian question is at the core of the Middle East issue. It concerns not only peace and stability in the Middle East, but also international fairness and justice.

In recent years, as the Palestinian issue has become more marginalized, China has always been a steadfast supporter of the just cause of the Palestinian nation and a staunch defender of the two-state solution.

Since the escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict in 2000, causing the subsequent stalling of the Middle East peace process, China has urged all relevant parties to faithfully implement UN resolutions concerning the Middle East issue, to achieve comprehensive, just and lasting peace in the region.

Successive Chinese leaders have repeatedly emphasized China's position on the Middle East peace process and actively engaged with all parties concerned. Such diplomatic efforts have been recognized by the international community, including Palestine and Israel.
