Thailand Ministry of Culture official on Sino-Thai cultural ties

Prasop Riangngoen, permanent secretary of Thailand's Ministry of Culture, highlights the profound cultural ties between China and Thailand during the 2025 Silk Road (Dunhuang) International Cultural Expo with CGTN. He associates China with its ancient civilization and the Silk Road, epitomized by Dunhuang, which symbolizes exchange and prosperity. For Thailand, he emphasizes the close kinship expressed by “China and Thailand are one family,” visible in shared festive and culinary traditions.

For youth exchanges, Prasop believes culture must evolve, with the young generation as key inheritors and innovators. The priority is to help them deeply understand their own cultural roots while learning about others', he said. Through mutual learning, culture becomes a bond enabling youth to collaborate and innovate together, ensuring vibrant future cultural exchanges, added Prasop.
