China Media Group (CMG) hosted a series of global events on Tuesday to celebrate unity and harmony worldwide as part of celebrations of the 80th anniversary of the United Nations' founding.
An exhibition titled "Beauty in Harmony, Destiny in Unity" opened at the UN headquarters in New York, showcasing artworks that honored the achievements of the UN, celebrated the spirit of the UN Charter, paid tribute to peace pioneers, and supported the implementation of the Global Governance Initiative.
Speaking via video, CMG President Shen Haixiong stated that music and images are universal languages of humanity.
"With productions such as 'Human Carbon Footprint,' 'Eradicating Poverty,' and 'The Road to Prosperity,' CMG offers a broad view of China's achievements over the past decade in supporting the UN Agenda for Sustainable Development, emphasizing the responsibility and dedication of a major country," Shen said.
Participants noted that the UN's 80 years of practice have shown that supporting true multilateralism is the only right way to address global challenges. The exhibition, reflecting on the UN's eight-decade journey, served as a call for stronger multilateral cooperation and broader consensus on maintaining peace and fostering mutual understanding.
