Cambodian Asian Film Festival office in Fuzhou: a bridge for cooperation

In an interview with CGTN's Zhang Xiaohe, Borak explained how the new Cambodian Asian Film Festival office in Fuzhou will play a crucial role in connecting filmmakers from both nations. "We just launched this new office, and it will serve as a hub for providing more information about Cambodia, especially for Chinese filmmakers who have projects or plans to film in Cambodia," said Borak.

The office aims to be more than just a resource center. It will showcase exhibitions on potential film locations in Cambodia, highlighting the rich cultural and geographical diversity of the country. Borak expressed hope that the office will act as a "bridge" between Cambodia and China helping to foster mutual understanding and deeper connections between the two countries.

The Silk Road International Film Festival: a platform for cultural exchange

The Silk Road International Film Festival, which connects cultures through cinema, was highlighted by Borak as a valuable opportunity for Cambodia to share its stories with a global audience. "It's very important, and I would like to express my thanks to the organizing committee of the 12th Silk Road International Film Festival for always inviting our delegation to participate. Today's forum allows us to share valuable information, especially about our film policies," he said.

Cambodia is actively working to attract more international filmmakers, offering a range of government incentives to encourage foreign productions. Borak acknowledged the festival's role in promoting Cambodia's unique cultural and historical narratives. He also extended his gratitude to the people of Fuzhou for their warm welcome, describing the city as "beautiful" and the environment as "conducive for cultural exchange."

Joint film projects: strengthening Cambodia-China relations

Both Cambodia and China share a long history of friendship, and the film industry is seen as a powerful medium for deepening this bond. Borak emphasized the potential for joint film projects, especially those focused on shared histories or cultural themes, to strengthen the relationship between the two countries. "Through film, we can promote mutual understanding and share our stories with the world," he remarked.
