Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, left the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region for Beijing on Thursday after attending events in celebration of the autonomous region's 70th founding anniversary. Xi was given a warm send-off by people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang in the city and at the airport of Urumqi, the regional capital.
