Faced with Xinjiang's challenging natural conditions, the region's cotton farmers have been given a helping hand by the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps's agricultural scientists, who have developed a technique called dry sowing and wet emergence. By moving away from traditional practices, the farmers are achieving higher yields of premium cotton.
