China is the largest troop contributor among the five permanent members of the UN Security Council (P5) and the second-largest financial contributor to the UN peacekeeping budget for the 2024–2025 period.
Since first joining UN peacekeeping missions 35 years ago, China has participated in 25 operations, deploying more than 50,000 peacekeepers to over 20 countries and regions, including the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Lebanon and South Sudan.
