2025 marks the 80th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations. A decade ago, on September 25, 2015, the United Nations officially adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and put forward 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to promote balanced progress across the social, economic and environmental dimensions. Among them, "No Poverty" (Goal 1) is prioritized, aiming to "end poverty in all its forms everywhere." Between 2015 and 2020, China lifted nearly 100 million of its people out of poverty, and its "targeted poverty alleviation" model has provided valuable lessons for global poverty reduction.
In this episode of The Hype, young representatives from UN agencies, China's rural revitalization efforts, Tsinghua University's Poverty Alleviation Camp and new media platforms will come together to discuss three key issues: global poverty reduction from the UN perspective, China's experience in poverty alleviation and rural revitalization, and how young people can contribute to this cause. They will share insights on how youth can turn ideals into action, responding to global challenges with creativity, expertise and influence. Join us to see how youth are becoming "doers" in poverty alleviation!
