Grand ceremony in Qufu marks Confucius' 2,576th birthday

The 2025 Grand Ceremony of Worship of Confucius was held in Qufu, Shandong Province, on September 28, to commemorate the 2,576th anniversary of the great sage's birth.

Rooted in tradition, the event maintained its solemnity while preserving the essence of Chinese ritual and musical culture.

This year's ceremony featured the opening of the city gate, grand processions, song and dance performances, the recitation of passages from "The Analects of Confucius," and a flower basket offering, each symbolizing deep respect for Confucius and the transmission of cultural heritage across generations.

As the founder of Confucianism, Confucius' legacy continues to resonate, not only in China but also across the world, highlighting the enduring relevance of his teachings.
