University of Sydney expert criticizes Japan for evading historical responsibility

In an interview with France 24 English Channel, Andres Rodriguez from the University of Sydney noted that the Japanese government has maintained a negative attitude towards addressing historical issues related to Unit 731, the "comfort women" and other wartime atrocities. He emphasized that Japan has refused to compensate the victims or engage in meaningful dialogue, while attempting to evade responsibility by waiting for survivors to pass away or exploiting legal loopholes to downplay these crimes.
