China's submarine oil and gas pipelines surpass 10,000 km

00:43

With the Binhai 109 vessel laying the final pipe in the southern Bohai Sea, China's submarine oil and gas pipelines have stretched beyond 10,000 kilometers, ranking among the world's top. Bohai Bay, China's largest crude oil base, now holds the densest submarine pipeline network with over 3,200 km of pipelines. The overall length is expected to exceed 13,000 km by 2030. In the new-energy transition, these pipelines could also carry hydrogen and shale gas, providing flexible support for optimized energy structure.
