Youth perspective: Gaza University lecturer says Israel blatantly violating international law

This year marks the 80th anniversary of the victory in the World Anti-Fascist War. The United Nations, established amidst the chaos of World War II, started a new chapter in global governance. Over the past 80 years, the international landscape has undergone significant changes. However, the global governance system still faces many unfair and flawed arrangements, including inadequate representation of countries from the Global South, diminished authority of the United Nations, and a lack of effectiveness, all of which are structural issues that require urgent attention.

Doctor Eyad Abu Mustafa from Gaza University shared his insights on global governance practices based on the international rule of law. He said that there are clear violations of international humanitarian law by the Israeli occupying state and its military.
