Hamas' representative in Iran, Khaled Qaddoumi, called the recognition of Palestine a "step in the right direction." He said the United States can no longer be trusted, as there is no guarantee of what President Trump might do. Qaddoumi stressed that only Palestinians have the right to decide their own affairs and expressed hope that they will one day be able to live like any other nation in the world.
