The first Xinjiang International Photography Contest has been launched and invites entries from home and abroad before December 1, 2025.
Submissions can be either documentary or landscape photographs taken in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region after January 1, 2024, according to the organizers.
AI-generated photos are not allowed and creative photos using third-party materials should be clearly indicated.
A total of 150 photos and photo series will be shortlisted for awards, of which 80 will be documentary photographs and 70 will be landscape. The best five photos – three documentary and two landscape – will each win a prize of 50,000 yuan ($7,009).
Internationally renowned photographers will make up the jury, the organizers said. An award ceremony will be held and shortlisted photos will be displayed in the Xinjiang Grand Theater in Changji Hui Autonomous Prefecture.
Participants can submit their works at the special section of the First Xinjiang International Photography Contest available in Chinese, English and Russian on Tianshannet (https://xf.ts.cn/photo/). Each participant can upload no more than 10 entries.
Sponsored by Future Motors, the contest is organized by Xinjiang Today Media Hub, Xinjiang Photographers Association and Xinjiang Pictorial under the auspices of Xinjiang Daily (Group), Xinjiang Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and Xinjiang Culture and Tourism Investment Group Co., Ltd.
