China's Wang Chuqin enjoyed a fulfilling day at the World Table Tennis China Smash in Beijing on Wednesday, recording three victories across the singles, doubles, and mixed doubles categories.

In the men's singles second round, Wang faced Poland's Milosz Redzimski for the first time on the WTT Tour. He quickly built a two-game lead, prevailing 11-7 and 11-4, but Redzimski fought back to take the next two games 12-10 and 11-8 to force a deciding fifth game.

After falling behind 4-2, Wang rallied with three consecutive points to move ahead 8-5. Despite Redzimski closing the gap to 9-8, Wang held firm and closed out the contest 11-8.

"I got a lucky win," said Wang. "I needed to summarize gains and losses in the third, fourth, and fifth games to better prepare for upcoming matches."

Redzimski admitted his disappointment, lamenting, "I had a really good chance to beat the World No. 1. I always wanted to win, so I was sad about it."

Wang later teamed up with Lin Shidong in men's doubles to defeat Sweden's 2021 world champions Mattias Falck and Kristian Karlsson 11-8, 11-5, 11-5, advancing to the quarterfinals.

"Compared to the Singapore Smash, we had more communication and better chemistry this time," Lin noted.

Other Chinese men's doubles pairs going through included Zhou Qihao and Chen Junsong, Yuan Licen and Xu Yingbin, and Huang Youzheng and Wen Ruibo.

In mixed doubles, Wang Chuqin and Sun Yingsha swept past compatriots Chen Yuanyu and Kuai Man 11-4, 11-9, 11-5 in an all-Chinese quarterfinal. Wang and Sun started strong with a quick 11-4 win in the first game.

Chen and Kuai fought back in the second, leading 4-1, but Wang and Sun responded with sharp attacks and precise serves to take the game 11-9. They carried their momentum into the third game, slamming the door 11-5 to clinch a place in the semifinals against Brazil's Hugo Calderano and Bruna Takahashi.

"We approached this match with a challenger's mindset," Sun reflected. "Wang did very well, especially after his third match that day."

Other matches of interest included China's Liang Jingkun and Chen Junsong advancing in the men's singles, while seventh-seeded Frenchman Felix Lebrun edged past Chen Yuanyu in a five-game thriller.

On the women's side, Wang Manyu, Kuai Man, and Shi Xunyao all progressed with straight-games victories. Wang Manyu and Kuai also reached the women's doubles quarterfinals, joined by Wang Xiaotong and Xu Yi, and Chen Xingtong, and Qian Tianyi.

In mixed doubles, China's Huang Youzheng and Chen Yi and compatriots Yuan Licen and Wang Yidi also moved into the semifinals, after putting away their respective oppoents in straight games.
