Located in Mulan Bay in Wenchang, Hainan Province, the Mulantou Lighthouse is one of the landmark coastal lighthouses of China. Due to the complicated sea conditions of the area, the lighthouse plays a particularly crucial role. Built in 1995, it not only guides ships within a 24-nautical-mile range but also serves an indispensable function in ensuring maritime safety, making it a "sea-calming needle" in the minds of local fishermen.

In 2024, the Hainan Island Tourism Company initiated a cultural and tourism upgrade of the lighthouse. By exploring its historical significance and tourism resources and improving both software and hardware facilities, the project aims to equip the lighthouse with modern, popular cultural and social functions, transforming it into a comprehensive tourism destination.
