Tsinghua team digitizes China's ancient zaojing to preserve woodcraft heritage ​

China is renowned for its ancient craftsmanship enduring over millennia, and that genius is evident in its iconic zaojing ancient wooden domes that hold together without a single nail in use and are typically found in palaces and temples above the throne or altar. Now a Tsinghua University team is pioneering the digital preservation of these architecture marvels by combining laser scanning and photogrammetry to create digital 3D models. CGTN interviewed key members of the team that ensures ancient Chinese architecture remains a legacy to the world.
