Hamas announced on Friday that it was ready to "immediately" begin negotiations to release hostages under U.S. President Donald Trump's Gaza peace plan, after months of failed mediation attempts. Trump said he believes Hamas is "ready for a lasting peace" and urged Israel to halt its bombardment of Gaza. He also thanked Arab leaders for their role in facilitating the talks.
