Nestled within the Sayram Lake Scenic Area, home to the largest and highest alpine lake in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Fengfanxi Creek is a gem waiting to be explored. At the lakeside stands the area's tallest rock formation. It is shaped like a ship's sail and affectionately known as the "Fengfan Stone." Fengfan means "sail" in Chinese. From the base of this iconic rock, a small stream flows year-round into Sayram Lake, giving rise to the name Fengfanxi, or "Sail Creek." The creek's waters are crystal clear, revealing the golden sands and smooth stones beneath. As a gentle breeze dances across the surface, the lake mirrors the surrounding snow-capped mountains, creating a scene of breathtaking tranquility and natural beauty.
