Phakpa Lhakhang: The most important temple hall in Potala Palace

Inside the Phakpa Lhakhang – the oldest temple hall in the Potala Palace – is a one-of-a-kind treasure: a sandalwood statue of the Goddess of Mercy, said to have formed naturally. At 1,300 years old, this hall is one of the Potala Palace's most sacred spaces.
