The Chinese Foreign Ministry said China hopes to see a comprehensive ceasefire in Gaza as soon as possible, as it called for adherence to the principle of "Palestinians governing Palestine" and the advancement of the two-state solution and promotion of a lasting peace in the Middle East through joint efforts with the international community.
