During the eight-day National Day holiday, highway traffic in China averaged 62 million vehicles a day, including 12.5 million new energy vehicles – a year-on-year increase of nearly 30 percent. Wang Dan, China Director at Eurasia Group, notes that more travelers are heading to smaller counties and lesser-known destinations, reflecting the benefits of China's improved transport and digital infrastructure. She said China's strong record in travel safety and network coverage is making journeys smoother while boosting regional tourism and economic growth.
