Israel and Hamas confirmed on Wednesday that a ceasefire deal has been agreed after U.S. President Donald Trump said on Truth Social that they had "signed off on the first Phase" of the peace plan.

Israel is set to convene its cabinet to approve the deal, and hostages are expected to be released on Saturday or Sunday.
