China opposes U.S. move to add Chinese entities to export control list

CGTN

China firmly opposes the latest U.S. move to place multiple Chinese entities on its export control list, a spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Commerce said on Friday.

The spokesperson made the remarks in response to a media query regarding an announcement from the U.S. Department of Commerce that it has added multiple Chinese entities to its export control list, citing so-called national security concerns.

The spokesperson said that China has taken note of the latest action by the United States, adding that the United States has been overstretching the concept of national security, abusing export control measures and long-arm jurisdiction, and imposing sweeping sanctions on entities including Chinese companies.

Such actions, the spokesperson said, have severely undermined the legitimate rights and interests of enterprises and disrupted the security and stability of global industrial and supply chains.

China strongly opposes the U.S. move, the spokesperson stated, urging the U.S. to immediately correct its wrongful practices.

The spokesperson emphasized that China will take necessary measures to resolutely safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese entities.
