The Israeli government approved a ceasefire deal with Hamas early on Friday, clearing the way to suspend hostilities in Gaza within 24 hours and free Israeli hostages held there within 72 hours after that. A Hamas source told the media that the organization plans to exchange 20 detained individuals for approximately 2,000 Palestinian prisoners. In the five days leading up to the ceasefire, at least 400 trucks of aid supplies are expected to enter Gaza each day, with the number increasing thereafter. The president of the International Committee of the Red Cross said: "The ceasefire in Gaza is about saving lives and reuniting families."
