The Philippine seismology office issued a tsunami warning after a magnitude-7.4 earthquake struck off the southern island of Mindanao.
One-meter-high waves were forecast along the nation's Pacific coast within the next two hours, the agency said, adding that coastal residents in affected areas are "strongly advised to immediately evacuate to higher ground or move farther inland."
