In Shanxi's Gaoping City, over 600 hectares of China's famous Yulu pears, which means "dewdrop" for the fruit's refreshing quality and thin skin, have hit just the right notes of sweetness, juiciness and crispness. 

And what better way to capture that peak state than live-streaming straight from the orchards as local farmers pick, sort and package them.

This ingenious way of marketing fruit is drawing in viewers and orders from across China. With 10,000 metric tonnes expected this year, the "golden cash crop" is boosting rural revitalization as nearby Xixian County also enjoys a bumper pear harvest.
