Chinese snowboarder Su Yiming produced a world-first on Thursday by landing back-to-back 1980s as confirmed in a social media video captioned, "Happy to complete the world's first back-to-back 1980."

The sequence saw the Olympic champion execute a clean backside 1980 with a melon grab, immediately followed by another 1980 from his opposite stance with a tail grab—demonstrating exceptional versatility and control.

This achievement marks another milestone for Su, who earlier this year successfully completed a 2160. As he builds toward the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics, he continues to advance his technical prowess following his gold and silver medal performances at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.
