Israel's government on Friday approved a ceasefire deal with Hamas to end the war in Gaza and secure the release of all remaining hostages, according to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office. Egypt, Qatar and Türkiye helped broker the agreement along with the Trump administration under the U.S.-backed 20-point peace plan. "We need a ceasefire", said Abbas Zaki, a member of the Central Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO). However, he expressed skepticism about the plan, stating that it was "an Israeli-American one aimed at taking control of the Middle East.”
