World Migratory Bird Day: Aerial visitors over lands and waters

Each year, millions of migratory birds embark on extraordinary journeys across continents, linking ecosystems and cultures along their routes.

Marked on the second Saturday of May and October, World Migratory Bird Day highlights the need for global cooperation to protect these travelers and the habitats they depend on.

This year's theme – "Shared spaces: Creating bird-friendly cities and communities" – calls for harmony between people and nature.

Through this photo collection, we follow these "aerial visitors" as they glide over mountains, farmlands, coasts and wetlands, capturing moments of peaceful coexistence between humans and birds.
