China will soon host the Global Leaders' Meeting on Women in Beijing to mark the anniversary of the 1995 World Conference on Women. CGTN Stringer took to the streets in China and in countries across Africa and Latin America, inviting locals to discuss topics such as women's progress and development, as well as female-themed films and books, highlighting global attention to women's issues.
In this video, Betizhe Osmanova Akova, a student from Tsinghua University, took to the streets in Beijing to discuss "female role models" with local youth. One of the interviewees, a researcher surnamed Li, said any woman who starts to feel confident about herself can be an inspiration to her. Meanwhile, another interviewee, a young woman surnamed Zhang, said her mother is her female role model. "As I was growing up, she taught me a lot in my studies and how to interact with others," she said.
