More than half a million displaced Palestinians have returned to Gaza City since a Hamas-Israel ceasefire came into effect Friday, according to Gaza's civil defense agency.
The Sheikh Radwan district is among the largest and most densely populated areas of Gaza City. Returning residents were shocked to see it completely devastated.
"When I saw the scene, I said this looks like a nuclear bombing, not missiles," said displaced resident Mamdouh Hamdan. "I fainted twice when I saw the devastation."
