At least six people were killed and multiple others injured in two separate high school-related shootings late Friday night and early Saturday morning in the U.S. state of Mississippi.

Two people were killed on the campus of a high school in the small Mississippi town of Heidelberg on Friday night. Police say the suspect in the shooting, which occurred during the school's homecoming weekend, is still at large. They are seeking an 18-year-old man for questioning, according to the Associated Press.

Separately, at least four people were killed and 12 others injured in a shooting early Saturday morning in Leland, a town with a population of about 4,000, according to media reports.

Leland Mayor John Lee told CBS News that the shooting occurred around midnight, and four of the injured were airlifted to local hospitals. There was no immediate information about their condition. The mayor said the shooting took place on a main street in the town, where people had gathered for Leland High School's homecoming game against Charleston High School.

No suspects are in custody, and the investigation is ongoing, according to the report.
