U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Friday that the United States would implement an additional 100% tariff on imports from China in response to Beijing's export control measures on rare earths and related items.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian stated on Monday that threatening with high tariffs is "not the right way to deal with China." He urged the U.S. to correct its erroneous practices as soon as possible.
