Jiang & Wei capture mixed doubles title at BWF Arctic Open in Finland

Sports Scene

Jiang Zhenbang and Wei Yaxin turned the tables on their tormentors at the BWF Arctic Open in Vantaa, Finland, beating fellow Chinese pair Feng Yanzhe and Huang Dongping in straight games in Sunday's final to claim their third mixed doubles title of 2025.

The rivalry has been quite lopsided, as the pairs had met 14 times previously, with Feng and Huang winning 12 of those matches. But Jiang and Wei hit back with a clinical performance in the Finnish cold to pick up their third victory in the head-to-head series.

The first game was a knife‑edge affair that saw Jiang nudge his side ahead at 20‑19, before closing it out on the very next point.

The second was just as tense, with Feng and Huang rallying to pull level at 14‑14. But the World No. 1 duo of Jiang and Wei tightened up when it mattered, forcing errors and converting two decisive points to seal the deal 24‑22.

The victory completes a treble for Jiang and Wei this season, as they add the Arctic Open crown to their earlier trophies from the India Open and Japan Open.
