Act to Action: Youth volunteers shine in the 'Go West' program

Since July, over 48,000 newly recruited volunteers under China's "Go West" program have begun their service at the primary level across several regions of the country, such as Xinjiang, Xizang and Guizhou, according to the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League of China (CYLC). They will serve for one to three years, focusing on sectors such as rural education, construction, healthcare and grassroots governance.

Launched in 2003, the program has attracted more than 590,000 college graduates, who have contributed to over 2,000 county-level areas. It not only provides young people with opportunities to apply their knowledge and skills but also injects vitality and innovation into the development of the country's grassroots work.

Youth energy has always been a vital driving force for global development. Within the "Act To Action" social campaign, CGTN invites youth from all APEC economies to share stories and ideas on global governance. Let's show the power of youth!
