Residents in Huauchinango, Mexico, were seen clearing mud and debris from their homes on October 12 after torrential rains and severe flooding devastated the region. According to government reports released on Monday, at least 64 people were killed and 65 remain missing after a tropical depression triggered landslides and floods across the Gulf Coast and central states. The heavy rains, striking near the end of the rainy season, caused rivers to overflow, destroyed bridges and left streets buried in mud, affecting over 100,000 homes.
