The International Atomic Energy Agency's (IAEA) 30th Fusion Energy Conference as well as the 2nd ministerial meeting of World Fusion Group kicked off in Chengdu, southwest China's Sichuan Province. The five-day gatherings draw global attention as the fusion energy is at a critical point of technical breakthrough. At the opening ceremony, the IAEA designated Southwestern Institute of Physics of China National Nuclear Corporation as its first "Fusion Energy Research and Training Cooperation Center."
