A devastating fire that broke out in two adjacent buildings – a garment factory and a chemical warehouse – in Bangladesh's capital, Dhaka, has killed at least nine people and left several others severely injured.

The buildings are located side by side near the Bangladesh University of Business and Technology, according to local media reports.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
