Editor's note: The 2025 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders' Meeting will be held in Gyeongju, South Korea, from October 31 to November 1. CGTN's "APEC Stories" series will showcase cooperation and culture of 21 APEC economies through visual storytelling.

The Johor Bahru–Singapore Rapid Transit System (RTS) Link, a 4 kilometer rail line to be completed by end of 2026, will connect Bukit Chagar station in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, with Woodlands North station in Singapore. It's expected to significantly reduce travel time between the two countries, with a peak capacity of 10,000 passengers an hour, thus boosting regional development via increased people-to-people exchanges and business links.

The China Communications Construction Company (CCCC) has undertaken the construction of the marine viaduct across the Straits of Johor, land tunnel structures, and the relocation of associated facilities – contributing to greater regional connectivity between Singapore and Malaysia. The project team has also placed emphasis on workforce training, continuously nurturing local talent for a sustainable future.
