Chinese FM meets Swedish foreign minister in Beijing

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Sweden's Minister for Foreign Affairs Maria Malmer Stenergard on Thursday in Beijing.

This year marks the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries.

Wang said the bilateral relationship demonstrates that when both sides respect each other, treat each other as equals and seek common ground, they can achieve win-win cooperation and mutual success. He urged China and Sweden to be partners rather than adversaries and to uphold the principle that cooperation outweighs differences.

Stenergard said Sweden values its relationship with China and is willing to strengthen cooperation in areas including trade and investment, scientific and technological innovation, and green transformation.
