Chinese PLA Navy ships arrive in Thailand for goodwill visit

The Chinese PLA Navy's 83rd taskforce arrived in Sattahip naval base in eastern Thailand's Chonburi province on Thursday, starting a four-day goodwill visit to the country.

The taskforce, consisting of Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy ships Qi Jiguang and Yimengshan, docked at Chuk Samet port.

Chinese Ambassador to Thailand Zhang Jianwei was among those greeting the ships.

This was the third visit of Qi Jiguang ship to Thailand, and the first for Yimengshan ship. During their stay, crew members will visit the Thai navy's HTMS Chakri Naruebet aircraft carrier and other military facilities. They will also visit the Royal Thai Naval Academy.
